It’s no secret that Irish whiskey is on fire around the globe! On the island of Ireland there are currently 39 operational distilleries which is incredible when you look back to 10 years ago, when there were only four Irish whiskey distilleries total. Geographically, the island of Ireland is split into 32 counties; 26 counties are in the Republic of Ireland and 6 counties make up Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland forms part of the United Kingdom.

The Derry/Strabane seven day COVID-19 rate has fallen marginally to 69.7 cases per 100,000.

Between May 18 and May 24, there were 105 cases giving a seven day rate of 69.7 cases per 100,000, down from 71 on Monday.
Ards and North Down (5), Causeway Coast and Glens (15.9), Antrim and Newtownabbey (16.1), Belfast (18.8), Mid and East Antrim (21.6), Lisburn and Castlereagh (26.9), Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (27.6), Fermanagh and Omagh (41.9) and Newry, Mourne and Down (47.7) and Mid Ulster (54.2), all have considerably lower rates.

THE richest person in Northern Ireland is Lady Ballyedmond, according to the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
As deputy chairwoman of Norbrook Laboratories, Lady Ballyedmond (Mary Haughey) is ranked as the 135th richest person in the UK, with an overall wealth of £1.247 billion.
She is the only billionaire from the north among 171 across the UK.
However, figures released in the list reveal her family s wealth has decreased by £98m within the last two months.
The 73-year-old inherited her late husband Eddie s veterinary pharmaceutical firm after he died in a helicopter crash in 2014. He founded the company in 1969.
